Who is this event for?
This gathering is for music lovers of all ages, creatives, storytellers, and anyone who’s ever said “you gotta hear this” about a song they love. Expect a mix of community members, artists, DJs, and folks who just want to connect through music and shared experience.
Where is it?
BLU’ Art & Wellness Gallery, 580 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802. Street and garage parking available. This is an intimate, creative space that invites people to gather, listen, and be present with one another.
Why a record party?
Because music holds our stories. This event is about more than listening; it’s about remembering, discovering, and building connection through sound. It brings back the feeling of sharing music in a living room with people you care about, while creating something new in community.
About A DJ Named President
A DJ Named President is a Long Beach-based DJ and cultural curator who creates spaces where music and community come together. Having attended Howard University, where she began her studies in Communications and Sociology, her work is grounded in storytelling, culture, and connection. Known for her thoughtful selections and ability to read the room, she blends sound with lived experience, turning each set into something people can feel. Through events like “Y’all Gotta Hear This!”, she invites others to bring their own songs and stories into the space, making music a shared experience, not just something you listen to.
