If we’ve got values in common, there’s a place for you at our table that matches what you’re looking for, whether it’s community connection, a creative outlet, a supportive circle, or a learning opportunity.
Connections gatherings are designed to bring people together in meaningful ways. Some are casual, some are reflective, some are creative, and some are focused on movement building. All of them center community building, resourcing, and collective growth.
Each gathering offers a different doorway into connection, wellness, creativity, and action.
Hey sis, if you’re someone who loves a laid-back chat over coffee and just wants to meet new folks in a casual setting, our Coffee Chat is your scene. We come together to center Black conversations in a space we create for ourselves.
The Coffee Chat is a relaxed space to connect with others in the community. These gatherings create room for real conversation, new friendships, and shared reflection about life, work, and the issues shaping our communities.
Women come to the Coffee Chat to slow down, meet new people, exchange ideas, and build relationships that often grow into collaborations, support networks, and lasting friendships.
We meet on the first Friday and second Saturday of each month at Mangiafoglie, a Black-owned vegan italian restaurant on 4th Street in Long Beach.
Artists in Movement is a creative gathering for artists, storytellers, and cultural workers who believe art has the power to move communities and inspire change.
These gatherings create space for artists to share work, explore ideas, collaborate across disciplines, and connect their creativity to movements for justice, healing, and collective liberation.
If you’re someone who’s passionate about using art to spark change and you want to be in a room with other creatives who feel the same, then Artists in Movement is your spot. It’s all about bringing your creative energy into the work of justice and community uplift.
Community Care Conversations are a series of small roundtable discussions that bring together grassroots changemakers and the organizations that support community work, including foundations, philanthropists, and nonprofit capacity builders.
The first series centers Black women changemakers in Long Beach and focuses on building relationships, sharing insights, and strengthening collaboration so community leaders have the support and resources needed to grow their impact.
The Black Liberation Meetup is a space for dialogue, perspective sharing, coordinating and collective reflection on the journey we’re ready to take toward Black liberation. These gatherings bring together folks who care deeply about justice, equity, and community transformation.
In this shared space, we explore the ideas, challenges, and strategies needed to shape the future we imagine.
If you have a hunger for real justice and you want to experience a space where we dig into what Black liberation means, then the Black Liberation Meetup is for you
The Love and Liberation Brunch is a gathering created especially for Black women to come together in community, meet new people, exhale, and connect. This annual gathering celebrates the brilliance, resilience, and heart of Black women while making space for rest, connection, and laughter.
If you’re looking to learn how to show up as a true ally to the Black community, if you’re ready to get real about what solidarity means and how to put it into practice, then Ally Circles are a great place to start.
We’re looking for folks who are committed to building genuine solidarity with Black communities and taking an honest look at how to address anti-Blackness within your own spaces. Individuals and groups are welcome.
You might be active already in community advocacy or organizing around social justice topics like immigration justice, homelessness and housing, health equity, or other issues that impact our communities. And, you might feel ready to dig deeper into how these issues impact the Black community, or want to deepen your understanding of intersectionality, or want to learn how to show up more effectively as an ally who is continuously learning and growing.
Whoever you are, if you’re ready to do the work alongside others, we welcome you. Let’s grow together.
Liberation does not happen in isolation. It grows through relationships, trust, shared experiences, and collective imagination.
Connections gatherings help cultivate the relationships and community bonds that make lasting change possible.
