B-Well Collab: Community Wellness in Action

Advancing Wellness Through Community Care

The Black Wellness Collaborative (B-Well) is a community-centered initiative of VERB Community focused on healing, wellness, and collective care in Black communities. We believe wellbeing is not just an individual responsibility. It is shaped by the conditions we live in, the systems we navigate, and the support we receive from one another.

B-Well brings together community members, organizers, practitioners, artists, and advocates to explore how wellness, justice, and community power are connected. Through storytelling, public education, community events, workshops and webinars, partnerships, and resource sharing, B-Well helps people better understand the social, emotional, and environmental factors that shape health and wellbeing, while demystifying and destigmatizing mental health in the Black community.

Our work creates space to talk honestly about mental health, disability, trauma, resilience, and healing while lifting up the wisdom that already exists in our communities. We are especially committed to making sure Black voices, experiences, and solutions are centered in conversations about wellness.

B-Well also collaborates with local organizations, public agencies, and grassroots leaders and groups to promote awareness, encourage community participation in research and policy conversations, and support efforts that lead to healthier, more just communities.
